Safe Haven

The Safe Haven policy was adopted by the OSLC Council in May 2013
Being an intentional community of faith which invites EveryOne to worship Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to build up its membership and encourage their gifts and talents to be used for the growth of the church.
EveryOne is welcome into ministry at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church! There are many different ministries at Our Savior’s, from quilt groups, mission outreach, to working with children and youth, and many more.
Safe Haven is the church policy for volunteers and staff working with children and youth. Anyone planning to participate in the ministries of the church which have direct involvement with minors are required to go through Safe Haven training on a bi-annual basis, prior to working with minors.

Below are the links to the policy and the background check forms. Please read through this policy.

We are excited to embrace a community of faith while being intentional about the safety of the youngest and most vulnerable in our midst. If you have questions in regards to the Safe Haven policy, please contact the church office at 425-252-0413.

The next Safe Haven Training in person will be done on: TBA

All are invited to go through the training of Safe Haven which is the policy in place with a background check for all adults volunteering with minors at OSLC. Question: “What if I don’t volunteer with kids, should I still come to this training?” – YES!! It takes a village to provide a safe environment for kids and families; being educated in how to do that is important for EveryOne. Please plan to come.
